Making Herbal Medicines: Elixirs

The word itself is evocative, rich: elixir. The medicine itself is even more so!

Bees love herbs, and their love brings us honey; infusing herbs into honey brings us round full circle.

Learn how to make your own delightful and medicinal herbal elixirs using honey, spirits, and herbs. These are delicious and potent remedies with a long history. Honey and alcohol are both excellent menstruums for the medicinal properties of plants, and each extracts a different profile; mixing them together creates a full-bodied, well-rounded medicine.

We’ll teach you all you need to know to make your own elixirs at home, going through all the steps together. We’ll send you home with suggested recipes to try, as well as general ideas about which herbs are best suited to this form, and which maladies respond best to it.

This class will be hands-on, light and lively. No prior experience necessary!
