The oldest of humankind’s experiments with fermentation, and certainly one of the most delicious, mead is a special alchemy of honey and yeasts. Not just another alcohol, mead is an excellent carrier for the medicinal actions of herbs! In fact, one of the names for herb-infused mead, metheglin, speaks to its original use as a folk medicine.
In this class we’ll demonstrate the basic mead-making process, and share our experiences with introducing herbs at various stages of the fermentation process. You’ll be brewing your own in no time!
