Elderflower Wallpaper, Sambucus nigra
Check out these Elderflower wallpaper images we made for you!
This week we’re featuring Elderflower, Sambucus nigra, a beautiful flower with powerful actions.
Elderflower usually gets put into one of two boxes – either to reduce fevers or to make a tasty syrup. Both of those are true! But there’s so much more to Elderflower!
Elderflower gets things moving – and lots of herbs can do that, so let’s get more specific. Think of Elderflower like champagne bubbles – yes, they’re pretty, but they’re also extremely forceful (if you’ve ever opened a bottle of champagne, you know!) When you’ve got heated emotions swirling in your head and you need to let them escape, Elderflower is the herb to turn to.
I also find it super helpful when i’ve got a heavy headache or migraine – it’s not necessarily suited to every migraine, but when you feel like there’s too much pressure building up in your skull, that’s the time Elderflower can really help.
And Elderflower can also help move lymph, especially in the head! This is helpful with congestion, ear infection, seasonal allergies, and even brainfog.
And that tasty syrup can be super helpful with all of these things, actually! I particularly like to make Elderflower syrup as a honey infusion, which can then be added to tincture to make an elixir, or to fizzy water to make a fancy beverage – which i find kind of comforting when i’m dealing with anger or hard emotions. The combination of the Elderflower actions and the delightful delivery mechanism just makes everything evaporate faster! That syrup can be added to tea as well: i typically don’t like to sweeten my tea, except Elderflower. Unsweetened, it has something of an odd flavor, but with just a bit of sweetness it turns into something absolutely delightful.
Of course, Elderflower really IS fantastic when you have a fever, too, especially if it’s a long drawn out fever and you feel like you need a break.
But that’s not all! Learn more about working with Elderflower:
