Linden Wallpaper, Tilia spp.
Check out these Linden wallpaper images we made for you!
This week we’re featuring Linden, Tilia spp. (“spp.” means that there’s more than one species that we work with, in this case, Tilia cordata, Tilia americana, Tilia europaea, and others)
Linden is the original “hug in a mug”. When you’re stressed out, when you’re sad, when you’re scared, when you’re tired of adulting and wish there was someone who would take care of you, when you’re all wrung out and you don’t have anything left to give – it’s Linden time!
Linden does its work at the intersection of the cardiovascular system and the nervous system. There’s a feedback loop there that moves in between the brain and the heart: if your head is stressed out and worried about all the everything, messages are going to your heart telling it to respond to the stress you’re feeling. That impacts the whole cardiovascular system and ultimately sends messages back to the brain saying “hey, it’s pretty stressful down here in the body, i think there’s something wrong!”. You may not feel that message consciously happen, but what you feel is this spiraling increase in stress and tension, until you can’t really remember the last time that you were really relaxed.
Enter Linden: soothing the nerve cells individually, soothing the system of stress feedback through the body, soothing the vagus nerve and all of your core functions. Plus, relaxing the cardiovascular muscles – the tension in the heart as well as the tension in the arteries that can cause high blood pressure.
Plus, it tastes great! It has no known drug interactions and very low potential for allergic reactions, so it’s a very safe tea to offer to friends in stressful times.
But that’s not all! You can learn more about Linden:
- In relation to cardiovascular Health in the Cardiovascular Health course
- In relation to emotional health in the Neurological & Emotional Health course
- In relation to better sleep in the Better Sleep course
And of course, Linden is featured in our Materia Medica course, where you’ll learn over 100 of the most important herbs in our practice!
